Switching to oils, a good idea?

Composition: The main difference between perfume and perfume oil is what they are made of. A perfume, also called Eau de Parfum (EDP), is usually made up of water, alcohol, and fragrance oils. These oils are a mix of different scent compounds, such as fixatives, essential oils, and perfume chemicals. How strong and long-lasting the scent is depends on how much of these chemical compounds are present.

On the other hand, perfume oil, which is also called fragrance oil or attar, is a very concentrated form of scent that has few or no alcohol and a lot of aromatic substances. This makes the smell stronger and more clean.

Focus: The amount of aromatic substances in a smell is a key factor in how strong it is and how long it lasts. When compared to scents, perfume oils have a lot more of these substances. The exact amounts can change from product to product, but perfume oils usually have between 15% and 30% aromatic ingredients and scents generally have between 15% and 20%.

As a general rule, perfume oils are stronger and last longer on the skin because they contain more chemical substances. It's amazing how little perfume oil can make a big difference in how strong and long-lasting the scent is.

Use: Because they are made of different ingredients, perfume and perfume oil are used in different ways. Because it is mostly water and alcohol, perfume is generally sprayed or dabbed on the skin. As the alcohol evaporates, the aromatic substances mix with the natural oils and heat of the body, releasing the scent slowly over time.

On the other hand, perfume oils are usually put on by dabbing or rolling them on pulse points. Since there is no alcohol, the scent doesn't vanish as quickly, making it smell more mild and close to the skin. Some people like the more personal and complex experience of putting perfume oils right on their skin.

Perfume oils are known for being able to be used in a lot of different ways. You can put them on your skin or hair, or you can mix them with lotions and oils that don't have a smell. Because perfume oils are so concentrated, they let users try combining smells and making their own unique fragrance experience. Even though perfumes are flexible on their own, they might not be as customizable because they don't have as many chemical ingredients.

In conclusion, perfume oil and perfume are different in what they are made of, how concentrated they are, how they are used, and how many things they can be used for. For a stronger scent that lasts longer, perfume oils are better. On the other hand, perfumes are more flexible and easy to use for those who like a lighter touch.
